Training Opportunities

Training Opportunities at Mind Matters

Practicum • Internship • Postdoctoral Fellowship

At Mind Matters, we are proud to offer high-quality clinical training experiences for students and emerging professionals in social work, counseling, and psychology. Our training opportunities are designed to support skill development, clinical confidence, and professional growth in a collaborative and supportive outpatient environment.

Program Overview

Mind Matters offers practicum, internship, and postdoctoral placements for candidates who can begin training in the summer semester, followed by continued placement through the fall and spring semesters. At this time, we are unable to consider mid-year (January) start dates.

This training timeline supports:

  • Continuity of care for clients
  • Structured onboarding and orientation
  • Adequate and consistent clinical supervision
  • Alignment with national placement match systems and most graduate program calendars

Summer start dates allow us to maintain a cohesive training schedule and ensure a smooth onboarding process for trainees.

What to Expect

Trainees at Mind Matters engage in a wide range of clinical and professional development experiences, including:

•Shadowing experienced clinicians at the start of placement
•Transitioning into conducting individual therapy sessions
•Co-facilitating or leading therapy and psychoeducational groups
•Participating in monthly staff meetings
•Attending clinical trainings and didactic seminars
•Receiving individual and group supervision
•Participating in case presentations and clinical consultations

Our goal is to offer an enriching, real-world training experience grounded in evidence-based practice, cultural competence, and ethical care.
